How Consistent Content Builds Trust and Authority

Just posting material online may not be enough. To be assured that you are serving your audience and demonstrating authority amongst them, you will need to create a documented, programmatic content strategy. Once you start posting on regular basis, your audience will recognize that you post often enough that they will not only trust you, but will come to rely on that content.

The consistency challenge

When you are posting at random, you are creating confusion for the audience. You post one day and post nothing the next day. When this happens as a pattern, the audience will ultimately forget you. Conversely, if your content is consistently posted, the audience will recognize you so often that they will begin to trust you over time.

You do not need to do it all yourself.

A majority of content creators are doing all of this on their own: writing blog posts, taking the picture, recording video, commenting back, creating ads for social, etc. All of this can be draining, and becoming challenging when you are trying to do it all at once. When you leverage freelancers, a small team, or an agency to help with some or even all of the tasks, this may help you to hold yourself accountable and be consistent with your content strategy.

Mix of Internal and External Help

Even when you have an internal group of help to create a sense of consistency, you can often slow them down by expecting them to do this exclusively. After all, they have their own responsibilities day-to-day. A mix of internal and external help can maintain the flow of your content strategy to look neat and professional and give you time to focus on your work or an increased workload while other people create the content for you.

Build Trust and Authority

By consistently posting, you demonstrate to your audience that you put effort and thought into your content, service, and product. When people are regularly seeing you, the next step is trusting in you and your brand. After trust, comes authority and expertise! With a proper and consistent content strategy, the audience can grow, you can develop a loyal, committed group of followers, and your brand can start to develop online. Consistency is not posting more. Consistency is showing up, building trust, and developing habitual growth. With proper help or support, your consistent content strategy can truly make a difference.
